Who Are We Anyway? PDF Print E-mail

Communication is not an optional activity; it is core to who we are as people made in God’s image. Communication is evident right from the beginning of the Bible. God spoke the world into existence. Jesus influenced by telling stories. The Biblical narrative itself is a history of the communication relationship between God and humankind.

This campaign is an initiative of CRIT (Communication Research and Information Technology), an international group of YWAMers who are working to improve communication in and from YWAM, to help us be more effective in the Kingdom of God.

We believe in a holistic view of communication articulated well by communication scholar Quentin Schultze: “Communication comes from the Latin word communis which means to share, to make common, or even to have possession of a common faith. When we communicate, we create, maintain, and even change shared ways of life…Every time we communicate we creatively exercise God’s gifts by contributing good or bad practices of culture…Ultimately all communication is a form of worship, a love ballad.”*

This site is a working environment that we hope will be useful to YWAMers across the globe. If you are interested in participating by contributing content or translating into other languages, or if you have other ideas related to intentional communication, please write us using the Contact Us form.
